Week 15 & 16
Hello Varsity Families!
For the last two weeks of school before winter break we have been learning about skiing and snowboarding! The grade 4 and 5 students were off to COP for 4 days of skiing (thank you to VASCPFS for helping to cover some of the costs). We also had a visit from Paralympian John Leslie and his fellow rider Connor Palahicky. John and Connor talked about how their love of snowboarding started at a young age and what it has done for them. John also talked about how he had the same cancer as Terry Fox and thanks to students like the ones at Varsity for all their fundraising, he was able to have a surgery that allowed him to continue participating in sport.
