Week 25 and 26
Hello parents and guardians,
Ajay is back! Students from kindergarten to grade 5 are participating in a two week dance residency with Ajay, our French speaking Hip Hop master from Sound Kreations. Thanks to VASCPFS for providing the funds for this event. This is the third year in a row that Ajay is with us and the level of skill has definitely increased throughout the years thanks to the repetition.
Students are being assessed on the following learning goals:
- I can demonstrate learned dance moves
- I can add my own personal style
- I can identify advantages of participating in dance
- I can encourage others and be positive about participation in dance
*these goals vary slightly from grade to grade, but these are the general outcomes.
Following our dance unit students will be coming home with a brief evaluation of their skills in dance.
Here are the blank assessments that will be coming home:
Thank you to those that have brought in some artifacts (pictures, ticket stubs, pins/medals, clothing) to highlight all the ways we enjoy and celebrate dance in our school community. The board is coming along but I would like to see some more examples!
Don't forget about the dance performance on Monday March 16. Please check your email for your child's specific time.
